It is hard to imagine a world without mobile phones, TV, Internet or cars. Few people are actually aware that chemistry plays such an important role in so many things that surround us.  Chemistry applications are present in many areas and have a great impact on the way we live.

A century ago, chemistry was barely beginning to find its way to large scale solutions for human well-being. But now, chemistry assumes a much more crucial position than ever before. So many of our global concerns such as access to water, food, energy, health and health care, housing, to name some, increasingly depend on the many innovations and contributions made by chemistry.

The video "Chemistry : All About You" has been made in the context of the 2011 International Year of Chemistry to raise the global awareness of the many contributions chemistry has made to people’s daily lives. It has been produced and distributed jointly by EPCA, UNESCO and IUPAC. The film shows that when it comes to daily life, chemistry has reached a long way. We are surrounded by facilities that consist of materials which derive from chemical processes such as
